Written Proposal of Postcard Project

In the Postcard Project, I will try to place Billie Holiday and Cab Calloway together. The concept that brought them together is music. Both of their work and career were closely related to Jazz and were very famous in their profession. Since I would like to dedicate my appreciation to these two musicians in the two post cards, I will place their pictures in different postcard. For instances, on the left one would be Billie Holiday singing in a lounge while on the right will be the picture of Cal Calloway directing a orchestra.

In order to add strong linkage between the two postcards, I chose to use a bridge in New York to run across two postcards. Both of them lived in New York for a certain period of time. Though in actual life, the musicians may not know each others, I will try to show that the musicians were in love, by adding two small figures on the bridge and the romantic starry background. I will try to capture the image of the Brooklyn Bridge in New York during Spring break.

For the separation line, I will try to cut with curly line. It may act as a hint for the receiver to connect two postcards together. I think the postcards can act as introduction of two musicians as well as tourist postcards of New York.
